Overview

"Mom, did you cry when I went to school?"

"I only cried for a little bit."

“After I started school, Mom misses me a lot—and I miss her too.

While I’m at school listening to stories, eating lunch, and taking a nap, Mom is working hard, and maybe she feels a little lonely.

But that’s okay.

All of our missing turns into joy when we see each other again. Can’t wait to be with Mom soon!”

This is a picture book where longing is visible—and so is love.

A gentle story that offers strength to mothers, helping them feel reassured as they watch their children grow.
Unlike most books that focus only on children’s separation anxiety, this story tenderly speaks to mothers as well, voicing love and longing through a child’s gentle words. This is a picture book that comforts not only the child but also the mother—a perfect choice for parent-child reading time.

The illustrations were in the shortlist for the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition. The illustrations are printed with special fluorescent colors, casting a unique hue that feels like a child’s gentle whisper—quietly tracing the unseen, yet deeply felt, emotional thread between mother and child.
