A heartwarming tale of sacrifice, love, and the miracle of new life

In the depths of the Amazon rainforest, a Silver Arowana fish couple prepare to welcome new life and it's daddy's turn to step up in the most extraordinary way. Once mama fish lays their precious eggs, daddy fish takes on an incredible responsibility.

For over fifty days, he carries the eggs safely in his mouth, unable to eat or speak, constantly opening and closing his mouth to provide fresh, clean water for his developing babies. Meanwhile, mama fish stands guard, watching over her increasingly frail partner as he grows thinner but never gives up on his sacred duty.

Through the unique "mouthbrooding" behavior of the Silver Arowana, this touching picture book reveals the extraordinary sacrifices parents make for their children and with a special emphasis on the “father’s role” that is often neglected in raising children. Winner of cultural ministry recognition, this beautifully illustrated and printed story combines marine education with profound lessons about family, making it an unforgettable journey into both the natural world and the human heart.
