Mr. Tururu keeps a regular schedule and goes to bed at 11pm every night. But tonight, a cat arrives on his rooftop and begins to MEOW MEOW MEOW. He gets out of bed to play a lullaby and sing the cats to sleep. He played and sang but little does he know that the cat will only become more energetic and attract even more cats!
Inspired by the Spanish Children’s song “Señor Don Gato”, 4-time Feng Zikai Chinese Children’s Picture Books Award winner Tom Liu is back with a new story, telling a tale within a tale. With large geometric shapes of bright, vibrant colors and stylish minimalist lines, Tom Liu paints pages of fresh, humorous images filled with rhythmic musical movements.
He cleverly incorporates the lyrics of “Señor Don Gato” in which hundreds of sardines comes to Mr. Cat and the white cat’s wedding, combing it with the tune of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. Singing for Cats combines illustrations, music and story. It is a book to read, to look at and to sing along with!
